Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors,

I am pleased, excited and honored to have served on the Fremont Unified School Board for the past 4 years. This experience has been both rewarding and challenging. Fremont has the most amazing students, parents, teachers and staff who are all committed to ensuring that our students receive a high quality education so that every child will reach his or her full potential and become all they are intended to become.

The City of Fremont is fortunate to have some of the best schools in the Bay Area. However, with high quality brings school facility challenges, which affects the district's ability to provide for students that are achieving at exceptionally high academic levels, as well as those needing support that is more specialized.

I am seeking re-election to continue the work that has begun with the passage of Measure E, the school facilities bond. I want to ensure that the funds are spent as the voters intended, and that every dollar is used to fix and repair Fremont's aging schools and help with classroom capacity.

While president of the board, I sought the support of fellow board members, to engage our community in a Project Labor Agreement with the Building and Construction Trade Council of Alameda County, AFL-CIO. This partnership is important to our community as it creates opportunities for local hire and excellent building quality that our students deserve.

With the heighten levels of development in Fremont, I worked with our school board, staff and developers to ensure that affected areas would receive a new school. Fremont, created the first ever agreement, where the developers will build a new school in the Warm Springs planned housing development area.

Additionally, I want to continue the oversight of the Local Control Funding Formula that requires the district to collaborate with parents and community leaders for engagement and accountability. I am an advocate for our students, and will work hard on their behalf.

I will continue to work for all students to help them achieve at all levels of academics. This will require that our students have state-of-the-art facilities that are both clean and safe to provide for the most effective learning environment.

My sincerest thanks to you for not only helping to give our children a voice, but also supporting my success in November!
